About

Fashion is knowledge.

But most of it is locked away.

01

Our industry's most profound knowledge—the craft, the construction, the stories—resides in private collections and archives, inaccessible to the designers and creators who need it most.

02

Traditional museums can't capture personal narratives. Digital research is superficial. The crucial link between past mastery and future design is broken.

03

(IM)PERMANENT was created to bridge this gap. We are not an archive. We are a craft education platform disguised as a reference library, built to transfer knowledge from one generation of creators to the next.

The Beginning

Our story began with
a single collection
and a simple question.

(IM)PERMANENT was born from a personal need: how to share a private Martin Margiela collection in a way that could tell the story of the house, hold educational value, and reflect a personal perspective.

The traditional museum model proved too rigid. The answer wasn't to display objects behind glass, but to create a new way to interact with them—a space between the private and public, the personal and the communal, where garments become sources of knowledge, inspiration, and dialogue.

The Problem

Today's design research is
analog, expensive, and superficial.

The critical early stages of research and ideation remain stuck in the past with...

01

Time-Consuming Documentation

Weeks are lost photographing, measuring, and creating technical drawings for each piece.

02

Costly Sourcing Trips

Brands spend €20-30k per trip for a single team to acquire physical reference garments.

03?

Superficial Online Research

Standard image searches lead to the same well-known photos, lacking the depth needed for technical innovation.

The Platform

We're building the bridge
between fashion's analog past and its digital future.

(IM)PERMANENT is the world's first immersive digital library of 3D fashion reference garments. We partner with private collectors and institutions to digitize their collections, transforming hidden treasures into living resources.

Our platform enables a fully digitized workflow for research, ideation, and concept development, replacing:
